TRC is working hand in hand with a specialist health and social care provider, operating a handful of care homes and hospitals in the South of England. Their key focus is to take care of working-age adults with a variety of complex and challenging needs, helping them to live a meaningful and fulfilling life.
This service is a hospital made up of 6 units supporting acute mental health, low-secure mental health and high-dependency rehabilitation.
As the Lead Occupational Therapist, you will be a valued multi-disciplinary team member and oversee a small team of OTs and OT assistants.
Overview
A full job description is available on request however, the main duties in this position include carrying out specialist OT assessments with each service user, using the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) to guide practice, and developing and implementing occupational therapy intervention focusing on daily living and vocational skills in consultation/conjunction with the multidisciplinary team. You would be responsible for managing a caseload of in-patients with mental illness who have a forensic background.
Requirements
Must be registered with the HCPC as an OT (Dip COT, BSc, or MSc in Occupational Therapy)
Evidence of working within Occupational Therapy for a minimum of two years in mental health
Previous experience of supervising or managing staff.
