Compressed Air Service Engineers

The Recruitment Crowd have recently partnered with a market leading client based in the Leeds area. We are looking for Compressed Air Service Engineers to join the team.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00am until 16:30pm (weekends and overtime available)

Pay Rate: Up to £32,000 per annum, negotiable dependant on experience, time and half for overtime

Location: Leeds, LS12

Job Type: Permanent

The Role

  • Working closely with the compressed air and vacuum team, dealing with the onsite commissioning, maintenance and repair of industrial stationary air compressors, vacuum and associated equipment. This may involve complete strip downs and over hauls on client machines at client sites
  • Being responsible for the service and repairs of customers industrial compressed air equipment, e.g. compressors (screw, vane and reciprocating), dryers (refrigeration and desiccant) and vacuum (this is mainly atlas Copco, compair and hydrovane).
  • Installing pipework as and when required
  • Communicating with the line managers/senior engineers regarding progress and/or requirement of any additional works that may be required after assessment
  • Preparation and submission of any certification
  • Submission of parts and labour advice for any extra work required
  • Delivery and collection of equipment and parts
  • Assisting other engineers on site and in the workshops
  • Attend ‘call out’ to clients sites outside normal working hours as required

Requirements

  • Excellent engineering skills, particularly with knowledge of all types of industrial air compressors and associated equipment (not portable compressors)
  • Working knowledge of compressor electrical and control systems
  • Extensive engineering experience and recognised qualifications
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Knowledge of health and safety issues, documentation, risk assessments, method statements and personal safety as well as current legislation relating to the tasks being undertaken
  • An understanding of basic compression principles including flow, pressure and volume
  • An understanding of drying and filtration principles
  • Ability to read drawings
  • Electrical fault finding abilities
  • Knowledge of vacuum is a desirable skill but not essential
