Finance Assistant

Due to substantial growth over the last 12 months, our client is recruiting a Finance Assistant to join their fast-paced team in their office based in Manchester.
Responsibilities include:
- Daily cash & bank postings
- Answering telephone calls and dealing with queries
- Maintain Purchase Ledger to ensure it’s kept clean with no historic invoices or payments on account
- Assist with credit control when required
- Assist with invoice processing when required
- Weekly reconciliation of Duty/VAT account
- To undertake routine administration
- Providing cover for other members of the team as and when required

- Ability to learn processes and systems
- Ability to multi-task and work to multiple deadlines
- Demonstrate accuracy and a keen eye for detail
- Ability to deal with enquiries in person and by telephone
- Takes responsibility for meeting required standard in role and for the impact of their activities and consequences
- Communicates effectively with colleagues and across the department
- Ensure confidentiality and privacy of information is maintained
Desired Qualifications:
- GCSEs at grades A*-C/9-4 (or equivalent) including Maths and English
- A Levels at grades A*-C (or equivalent)
- Qualified to AAT Level 2 preferable but not essential

Requirements:
- 3 years’ experience of working in an accountancy practice
- Qualified to AAT level or similar or QBE
- Hands on experience with: Sage 50, QuickBooks and Xero
Full time but part time candidates will also be considered
