HR Generalist / People Advisor

The Company


Our client is a UK Property Management company offering affordable housing to private residents and NHS medical staff across the country. We are looking for a People Advisor who will report to the Head of HR.


The Role


  • Support the Head of People in overseeing People lifecycle processes
  • Be the point of contact for all People queries
  • Take an active lead in onboarding and conducting employee inductions and completing all associated onboarding administration
  • Resolve first line People queries and employee relations, advising on a diverse range of People areas including probation, performance management and total rewards
  • Support the Head of People with coaching and advising stakeholders on People best practice and employment law
  • Support the Head of People with the development of the Learning Academy, from learning creation, design and delivery
  • Work closely with hiring managers in developing recruitment campaigns, providing support in key recruitment areas from developing job descriptions, to sourcing and interviews
  • Creating and sending engaging employee communications
  • Plan and organize employee engagement and wellness initiatives and events
  • Oversee our People systems (HRIS, Learning and Performance management platforms), ensuring data is updated, reports are collated and acting as the point of contact internally for any People system queries
  • Support the Head of People with the ongoing development of policies, procedures and processes
  • General People administration from managing People folders, preparing formal documents to minute taking
  • Supporting with key People projects




The Candidate


  • Previous experience in a similar role within HR/People
  • A true passion for People practices and desire to further develop within the People profession
  • Working knowledge of basic employment law and general people practices and processes to be able to advise on first line People queries and cases
  • Previous learning and development experience; from organising, creating or delivering blended learning
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills and genuinely wants to create and deliver a great employee experience through encouraging and motivating others
  • Recognises and practices the importance of confidentiality and dealing with sensitive matters and data
  • A confident self-starter, ability to work alone and within a team
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience using HR systems is essential. Working knowledge of any or all of the following systems is highly desirable; Bamboo HR, Kallidus Learn and Perform, Articulate
  • A passion for the Real Estate industry and general knowledge of residential lettings would be a distinct advantage
  • You must live within a commutable distance of Manchester
