£45,000 DOE + Bonus

TRC are working with a continuously growing, care provider and are looking to recruit a Children’s Home Manager to take reins of one of their new LD homes in Kettering. This LD home is registered to 6 young people.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have responsibility for the direct management of the children/young people and the management of the staff teams
  • Lead in the recruitment, maintenance, and development of the staffing team
  • Undertake a wide range of duties which will involve some direct and indirect care of children
  • Take responsibility in ensuring the running of the home is to it’s highest possible standard
  • Maintain clearly written, accurate contemporaneous records of involvement with children and their families
  • Have a clear understanding of the role and function of OFSTED.
  • To have an up to date understanding of Safeguarding Children Procedure and Looked after Children Procedure.

Essential Criteria:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of working with children / young people with learning disabilities and complex needs
  • Experience of working within a residential setting
  • Experience of effective line managing staff
  • Experience of completing supervisions and appraisals Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding legislation and procedures
  • level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Care or an equivalent qualification or willingness to complete within required timescale.
  • Car driver and willingness to use own car in line with company Safe Driving Policy and a willingness to drive minibuses
  • Adhere to no smoking policy
