Ward Manager – RMN

We’re looking for a Ward Manager – RMN. TRC are currently working hand in hand on a retained basis with a specialist provider based in the south of the UK, who pride themselves on supporting to people living with complex mental health. The groups aim is to maximise their client’s independence and assist them in living a meaningful life. They do this through integrated pathways and outcome-focused models.

The role would require someone on a full-time basis, ideally working Monday-Friday. However, some flexibility could be considered. The hospital provides services to both male and female, across rehab, acute and low secure units. They are soon to open a brand new ward which this position will based. The hospital currently rated GOOD under CQC regulations.

Ward Manager Duties:

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the services and coordinating its operations
  • Train, supervise, appraise, line manage and retain all nursing and support staff for the service;
  • Coordinate the staff rota and ensure clinical cover remains compliant and in accordance with the service specification
  • Contribute to clinical governance meetings
  • Monitor the day-to-day clinical care of all residents in the service
  • Ensure the completion of necessary CPA, Managers Panels and Mental Health Tribunal reports by members of the clinical team
  • Provide out of hours cover on an ”on-call” basis in accordance to company’s policy
  • Ensure the appropriate communication and liaison with referring clinicians care coordinators or other clinical staff involved in patients’ care
  • Ensure care programme approach meetings, ward rounds, managers panels, mental health review tribunals and multidisciplinary care planning meetings happen as scheduled by making sure clinical staff is able to attend
  • Effectively coordinate the review patients in at regular intervals as clinically indicated
  • To ensure medication is administered as prescribed and that it is reviewed at appropriate intervals by medical staff (Not exhaustive)
